[Update II: Venue said there’s no indication of a second show – just a cruel rumor perhaps. So where to get an August music fix? There are shows aplenty, but only a few worth missing a deadline for. Not too late to catch System of a Down in Jersey or Philly (tonight), fyi.]

[UPDATE: Don’t get your hopes up, but according to an anon comment (totally credible, right?) on BrooklynVegan, they’re adding a second show at Music Hall of Williamsburg $25 August 25th. Don’t see if the tickets are on sale yet. The show’s not listed on the site. We may just stop by to ask when they go on sale…to be continued]

My heart is broken. The Quicksand reunion show at Bowery Ballroom sold out in minutes. What are the odds are that they’ll add on another show? Maybe if we all ask them very nicely…and send them buckets of sad-faced pictures they’ll add on just one more date, I’ll go anywhere. Have metrocard AND bike, will travel, Quicksand. Maybe they need a few of us to run their merch table … or carry equipment … or hum the sounds of the ocean when they feel stressed out.

On one hand, it shows how awesome their fans are. On the other, it sucks because I had my hopes up. On the third hand, the gauntlet has been thrown down and those of us who didn’t get tickets must find a way to wiggle into the show. Got any ideas?

Not even this Oatmeal comic The state of music is enough to cheer me up. The music industry still has plenty of greedy middlemen, like Bowery Presents and Live Nation, but the middlemen come and go. All that matters is the music and the ticket or clever disguise that’ll get you in.
